Manager, Data & Analytics – United States – Remote
Are you ready to merge your passion for data analytics with sneaker culture? We’re looking for a dynamic individual to step into the role of Manager of Data & Analytics at Foot Locker. As a vital member of our team, you will help shape our business and operational strategies while collaborating with stakeholders across various functions, including Merchandising, Planning and Allocation (MP&A), Supply Chain, and Retail.
Role Overview:
In this position, you’ll derive insights from data analysis, statistical modeling, and complex data queries, all while aligning with Foot Locker’s Lace Up Plan Strategy. Your insights will be crucial in defining product capabilities and developing innovative business solutions. This role operates at the intersection of customer expectations, intelligent automation, business processes, inventory management, and product optimization, requiring a blend of vision, analytics, and influence.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Foundation, Reporting & Dashboarding
- Collaborate with business executives to transform complex requirements into innovative data and analytic solutions that drive business value.
- Manage end-to-end optimization processes, prioritizing, implementing, and measuring outcomes to make informed next-step recommendations.
- Work with IT leads and engineers to assess the impact of upstream technology transformations on Data & Analytics assets.
- Ensure business continuity by testing and validating data assets and making necessary adjustments.
- Build relationships with global counterparts to share best practices and ensure data is structured and available for analytics.
Insights, Analysis & Recommendations
- Analyze business problems, focusing on root causes, solutions, and opportunities.
- Identify key business opportunities and deliver actionable insights based on diverse data sources.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses using SQL, Power BI, and other tools to support decision-making.
- Present complex insights and recommendations clearly to all levels of management through compelling narratives.
- Evaluate the impact of new initiatives using advanced analytics and statistical techniques, emphasizing ROI and customer experience.
Data Science, AI/ML Products
- Support the execution of Data Science and AI/ML projects for the North America region.
- Ensure the right data is prepared for modeling by analyzing data sources and transformation logic.
- Validate model outputs and propose optimizations to meet revenue and profitability goals.
- Translate complex business needs into data-driven problem statements and deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build win-win solutions through partnerships at all levels of management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear expression in group settings and one-on-one conversations.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on identifying and seizing business opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field, with at least 4 years of experience in Data & Analytics, particularly in large-scale data lakes and BI dashboards.
- Proficiency in data visualization and storytelling through reports and dashboards.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in advanced data mining and engineering tools, including SQL, ETL, and data warehousing.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Scala, or R.
- Experience with dashboarding tools like Power BI, MicroStrategy, or Google Data Studio.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Experience in B2C retail (omni-channel) is highly desirable, as well as familiarity with web analytics tools like Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Compensation and Benefits:
The annual base salary range for this position is $115,000 – $130,000, plus eligibility for short-term incentives based on individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by your education, experience, and skills.
